ChatGPT Multi-Factor Authentication

Overview

In this tutorial, we will learn the steps to enable Multi-Factor Authentication on
ChatGPT AI model. This will add an extra layer of security for access in the AI model.

ChatGPT Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires users to provide multiple forms of identification before gaining access to the ChatGPT platform. This typically involves something you know (like a password), something you have (like a smartphone for receiving a code), or something you are (like a fingerprint).

Enable ChatGPT MFA

Open Settings >> Multi-factor authentication. Click on the Enable button to enable it.

This will log you out of the service and show an MFA enrollment form.

Download Authenticator App

Use authenticator apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. Install one of these apps from the respective app store on your smartphone.

Alternatively, if you already have the app, launch the app on your mobile phone.

Add an account

To add an account to the Authenticator, scan the QR Code on your enrollment form. Open the added account in the Authenticator app and enter the one-time password code in the text box.

Click on the Continue button to proceed.

Save the recovery code for future use.

Check the checkbox and click on the Continue button.

Verify that the MFA setting is enabled in the Setting pane.

That’s it. This will enable the MFA setting on your OpenAI account.

When you log in next, you will be challenged to enter the OTP as an extra layer of security before accessing the language model.
