Overview

In this tutorial, we will go through different cloud types in Cloud computing. Different types of clouds exist based on the operation of the cloud and the targeted user group.

Cloud Types

The different types of cloud offerings are as follows:

• Public
• Private
• Hybrid (a combination of private and public )

Public cloud

The cloud service offerings shall be shared between multiple companies to reduce costs and enable dynamic resource usage. Provisioning and de-provisioning of resources on the internet from a 3rd party cloud vendor.

Private Cloud

The cloud service offerings shall be used internally by a single company. This may be due to privacy requirements or restrictions by law. A private cloud is internal to an organization in a protected manner. Company critical business and to protect company data would use private cloud within the organization’s own intranet.

Hybrid cloud

A hybrid cloud is a mix of private and use of public cloud offerings. The cloud service offerings shall be shared between multiple companies that trust each other to reduce costs.
