Overview

In this tutorial, we will install the MySQL Workbench Community Edition tool on Windows 11 operating system. Workbench is a MySQL GUI tool to allow DBAs to administer MySQL database instances.

Download MySQL Workbench

We can download the tool from the following URL:

https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/

Choose Microsoft Windows from the Operating System drop-down.

Click on the Download button.

 

 

Download the mysql-workbench-community-<version>-winx64.msi  file.

Install MySQL Workbench

Locate the installer and double-click on the file to launch the setup wizard.

Click on the Yes button in the Elevation prompt.

Click on the Next >  button on the setup screen.

Choose the Destination Folder and click on the Next >  button.

 

The default location is:

C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Workbench 8.0 CE

To change the install location click on the Change… button and choose the installation directory.

Choose the setup type. To install all program features choose the Complete setup type.

Click on the Next >  button to install the application.

That’s it. The tool will be installed succesfully on the machine. Launch the tool to start connecting, monitoring, adminstering MySQL database instances.
