Introduction
VMware tools suite provides features and services for better interaction with guest operating systems. It is important to install VMware Tools on the guest operating system. For example, installing VMware tools would allow the drag and drop of files from the guest operating system to host OS and vice versa.
Environment:
- Windows 10 (Host operating System)
- VMWare Workstation 15.x
- Windows 10 (Guest operating System)
Steps
Power on and launch the Virtual Machine.
Choose from the menu options VM >> Install VMWare Tools…
Alternatively, we can launch the setup from the Windows prompt in the Virtual machine.
Type Win+ R and type D:\setup.exe
Choose the installation type:
- Typical
- Complete
- Custom
If you don’t know which option to choose, then its recommended to choose Complete option.
Click on the Next> button and complete the Install wizard steps.
