How to Expand Virtual Disk on Windows 10<\/h1>\n

In this tutorial, we will learn how to expand the virtual disk for the guest OS virtual machine on VMware Workstation.<\/p>\n

Environment<\/h2>\n

Host Operating System: Windows 10<\/p>\n

VMWare Workstation.<\/p>\n

Expand Virtual Disk<\/h2>\n

Click Edit virtual machine settings<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

In the Virtual Machine Settings<\/strong> window, Hardware<\/strong> tab click Hard Disk<\/strong> device.<\/p>\n

Click on the Expand…<\/strong> button to extend the disk volume.<\/p>\n

In the Expand Disk Capacity<\/strong> window, specify the new disk size.<\/p>\n

Click the Expand<\/strong> button to increase the size of the disk.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Note that Virtual machines with snapshots cannot be expanded using the above steps. If the snapshots are no longer valid, we can remove them before expanding the hard disk. Otherwise, we can use\u00a0VMware vCenter Converter to expand the disk.<\/p>\n
