Software Quality Assurance
Software Quality Assurance (SQA) is an umbrella activity to ensure that the software product meets the requirements and standards of quality, reliability, and performance. SQA involves planning, designing, implementing, testing, and reviewing software products throughout the software development life cycle. SQA aims to prevent defects, errors, and failures in software products and improve customer satisfaction and user experience.
SQA activities
SQA activities can be classified into two categories:
- Verification
- Validation
Verification is the process of checking whether the software products conform to the specifications and standards. Validation is the process of checking whether the software products fulfill the intended purpose and meet the expectations of the customers and stakeholders.
SQA is an ongoing process that runs throughout the software development life cycle, from project initiation to maintenance and support.
