How to add Unicode characters to Raptor Flowcharts

Overview

In this tutorial, we will learn the steps to add Unicode characters to Raptor Flowcharts. Sometimes we need to output special characters like degrees ° , or to print dimension information in superscript. For example, area as m² or acceleration as m/sec² .

Unicode characters

Unicode is an encoding scheme in which each character is assigned a unique value. This provides interoperability across platforms, programming languages and applications.

Sample Flowchart

 

To use or print the Unicode character, we need to known the unique value. Lookup the value and use the code. For example, to insert  degrees ° symbol, we can use U+00B0 or  °

On Windows operating system, to insert the degrees ° symbol, identify the flowchart symbol to insert, press the ALT button and enter the 0176 using the numeric keypad on the keyboard.
