What is TestLink Tool?

Introduction

TestLink is a test management system. TestLink is a web-based tool. It enables us to easily create and manage Test cases as well as organize them into Test plans. These Test plans allow team members to execute Test cases and track test results dynamically, generate reports, trace software requirements, prioritize, and assign tasks.

Test Projects

A large team can divide the products to test projects. Each test project has its own user rights, test specification, software requirements, and Test plans.

Multiple projects support
We can organize Test cases in hierarchical structure into Test Specification. The history of each test case is traceable.
Users can have defined roles in the project (for example leader, tester, etc.)

Requirements based testing

Create or import Software requirements document and trace requirements to test results. We can map a test case to a functional requirement. You can automatically generate Test Cases as well.

Import/Export Test Cases
TestLink allows users to easily import and export test cases and product requirements and all of their test cases to and from XML file formats.

Test Plans
Use TestLink to compose rich test plans containing a chosen set of test cases. Each Test Plans can collect test results for particular builds and platforms.
