Input, Process, and Output
An IPO chart is a graphical chart describing a system’s main components. It breaks down the system into three main components:
- Input
- Process
- Output
Input
These are the system’s inputs. They can be resources, data, files, or materials.
Process
Process denotes the actions, steps, operations, or calculations that transform the inputs into outputs.
Output
Outputs are the system’s final products. They are the system’s results or outputs.
