OpenAI Ads Manager
OpenAI Ads Manager
OpenAI Ads Manager is a self-service advertising platform designed to help businesses create, launch, manage, and measure advertising campaigns shown in ChatGPT. OpenAI introduced the beta self-service version on May 5, 2026, as part of the company’s broader ChatGPT Ads pilot. The platform is explicitly described by OpenAI as a beta product, meaning features, performance, and workflows can continue to change as the system evolves.
What Can Advertisers Do?
Ads Manager brings important campaign activities into one interface. Businesses can register as advertisers, configure payment information, set budgets, bids, and pacing, upload advertising creatives, launch campaigns, and monitor results. The beta platform provides reporting for metrics such as impressions, clicks, click-through rate, and spend, with dashboard views and CSV exports available for analysis.

How Is It Different From Traditional Advertising?
ChatGPT Ads are designed around the conversational environment of ChatGPT rather than conventional search-result pages or social feeds. OpenAI says ads are clearly labeled and visually separated from ChatGPT’s answers, and advertising does not influence the answers themselves. Advertisers are also not given access to users’ private conversations, chat history, memories, or personal details.
Recent Developments
The beta has expanded rapidly. On August 31, 2026, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT Ads had reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate and that direct Ads Manager purchasing was expanding to India, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. OpenAI also said tens of thousands of advertisers were using the platform. Reuters independently reported the $1 billion milestone and the regional expansion.
On September 16, OpenAI introduced additional AI-powered advertising capabilities. These include AI assistance for creating ad copy and imagery, natural-language campaign management through ChatGPT Work, and tests of Sponsored Agents that can start a separate conversation with a business-sponsored agent after an ad is clicked.
As of the latest OpenAI Help Center update, self-service Ads Manager is available in many countries, including theUnited States, the United Kingdom, India, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and numerous European and Middle Eastern markets.
