Create New ChatGPT Project
Create New ChatGPT Project
Let’s see how to create new ChatGPT projects in this tutorial. A Project is like a dedicated workspace inside ChatGPT for keeping related conversations, files, and context together. Projects keep chats, files, and custom instructions in one place.
It helps you organize tasks so you don’t lose track of earlier chats or reference materials.
-
Project-specific Instructions: You can set instructions (tone, role, style) that apply only to that project and override your global settings.
-
File Uploads: You can upload files like PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, images—attach relevant files so ChatGPT always has the context needed.
-
Memory Scoped to Projects: Chats and files within a project are “remembered” together; previous conversations or uploads outside the project won’t interfere (depending on memory settings).
-
Organizing Conversations: Move existing chats into or out of projects; each project acts like its own folder
Set Up ChatGPT Project
The steps to create new project are as follows:
Click New project from the sidebar in ChatGPT.
Give the project a name, you can choose from pre-defined project names. Click on the Create project button to create it.
Add files and instructions. These apply to all chats inside that project.
You can also move or drag existing ChatGPT chats into the project if they belong.
That’s it. You have successfully created a project.
