Overview

A Windows XP Theme is a background and set of sounds, icons, and other elements that help you to personalize the computer in a single click.

It is a way to group the different characteristics that affect the appearance of Windows XP by giving it a name. We can change or switch the theme with a single click.

Set or Change Theme

Click with the right mouse button somewhere that has no icons on the desktop and select the option Properties from the shortcut menu that is displayed.

The Display properties window will appear. The Display Properties window consists of the following tabs:

• Themes
• Desktop
• Screen Saver
• Appearance
• Settings

Select the tab labeled Themes on the Display Properties window.

From the Theme: drop-down list, choose the theme you prefer. The drop-down list options are:

• My Current Theme
• Windows XP
• Windows Classic
• More themes online…

In the Sample screen, you can see how it will look. If you wish to apply the theme, click on the Apply button and click on the OK button.

If you wish to save the changes, click Save as…, then name it and click OK.
