Kali Linux Virtual Machine
Kali Linux Virtual Machine
In this tutorial, you will learn the steps to create Kali Linux Virtual machine. You can use either VirtualBox or VMware for creating VMs.
Download and Install VirtualBox
To run Kali Linux as a virtual machine, download and install VirtualBox on your computer.
Download Kali Linux ISO
To begin, visit the official Kali Linux website and download the latest ISO image. Ensure you choose the right version based on your system architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
However, if you want you can also use Pre-built VMs if you want to use with VirtualBox or VMware as shown.
Create a New Virtual Machine
Open VirtualBox or VMware and click on New. Name the virtual machine and select Linux as the type.
Allocate Memory (RAM)
Assign at least 2GB of RAM (4GB or more recommended) to ensure smooth performance.
Create a Virtual Hard Disk
Choose Create a virtual hard disk now and allocate at least 20GB of storage.
Attach Kali Linux ISO
Go to the VM settings, select Storage, and attach the downloaded Kali Linux ISO to the virtual optical drive.
Start and Install Kali Linux
Start the virtual machine, follow the installation steps mentioned earlier, and complete the setup.
Install Guest Additions (Optional)
To enhance performance, install VirtualBox Guest Additions for better display resolution and clipboard sharing.
Once installed, you can start using Kali Linux in a virtualized environment without modifying your primary system.
