Bank customers should enroll in the online banking facility with the bank. Customers with an electronic device (like a personal computer, laptop, notebook, tablet, etc) and a web browser can browse their bank’s website to perform any of the virtual banking services or functions.
Banks enable internet banking services to their customers to reduce the workload on the bank employees and offer banking services anywhere and anytime 24/7.
Bank customers can bank from anywhere in the world, as long as they have an Internet connection.

Online Banking Steps
The usual steps to be followed by the customer:
- Open a web browser and access the secure bank URL that runs on HTTPS protocol. Make sure the connection is secure.
- Register for Online banking ( Some banks allow you to register using a Debit/Credit Card)
- Activate the Online account access
- Set online bank account credentials like username/password
- Open the bank’s online Sign in webpage that runs on HTTPS protocol. Always type the URL in the browser address bar and make sure the URL starts with https
For example, to log in to Citi bank’s online bank account. The web browser displays a padlock icon to indicate that the connection is secure with the Citi bank server and the certificate is valid.
- Log in to the online account
- Access Online bank account
- Perform online banking transaction
- Logout from the online account
