RAPTOR History
RAPTOR was developed by Dr. Martin Carlisle, Jeff Humphries, and Dr. Jason Moore at the United States Air Force Academy’s Department of Computer Science. It is used for computer science education in many countries.
RAPTOR Purpose
The tool’s main purpose was to help students visualize the flow of algorithms through flowcharts, reducing the complexity of traditional text-based coding.
RAPTOR was introduced as a teaching tool to help students understand the fundamental programming and algorithm design concepts without getting bogged down by syntax errors and other complexities associated with text-based programming languages.
