    RAPTOR Editions

    Overview

In this tutorial, we will learn about RAPTOR Editions. RAPTOR is a flowchart-based programming environment that helps students visualize their algorithms and avoid syntactic errors.

    RAPTOR Editions

Different editions of Raptor are available, depending on your operating system and needs. The different editions of the flowchart tool are as follows:

    • RAPTOR Avalonia Edition
    • RAPTOR Windows Edition
    • Portable Edition

    RAPTOR Avalonia Edition

Avalonia edition is a cross-platform and lightweight tool that supports multiplatform like Windows, Linux, and macOS. This edition requires the .NET core desktop runtime installed on the machine. This edition is a trimmed version with limited features. It doesn’t support OO mode (Object-Oriented). The OO mode is required to create object-oriented flowcharts and UML class diagrams.

The edition’s name is derived from the Avalonia framework, which is utilized to create the flowchart tool. Avalonia is a versatile UI framework based on XAML and works seamlessly across various operating systems, such as Windows (.NET Framework, .NET Core), Linux (GTK), and MacOS. Additionally, it is compatible with mobile operating systems like iOS and Android.

    RAPTOR Editions

Steps to install Avalonia edition on different operating systems are as follows:

    • Windows
    • Linux CentOS Distribution

    RAPTOR Windows Edition

Windows Edition can only be installed on the Windows operating system. This edition is feature-rich and supports all features and modes. This edition supports object-oriented mode.

    Portable Edition

The Portable edition can be installed on a portable device like a USB pen drive. We can use the tool on many systems. You can use it on any system that has the .NET framework installed.
