Software Prototyping Model

Overview

In this tutorial, let’s learn about Software Prototyping Model. This model is used when the customer is unsure about the requirements of the product.

Software Prototyping Model

In this model, an initial prototype is developed to check with the end user for validation of product requirements and feasibility of the system.

Prototype

A Prototype is defined as small scale working replication of the end software product. Prototype is used for obtaining customer feedback. Unlike in the Waterfall model, customer feedback is taken in this model to refine the the product.

Types

There are four types of Prototyping:

  • Rapid Throwaway
  • Evolutionary
  • Incremental
  • Extreme
