MantisBT Access Levels
MantisBT Access Levels
MantisBT Access Levels define what the user can perform with the system. There are many access levels in the Mantis tool. For example, an Administrator is like a superuser and can perform all defined actions on the system.
MantisBT Access Levels
The default access levels in Mantis are as follows:
- VIEWER
- REPORTER
- UPDATER
- DEVELOPER
- MANAGER
- ADMINISTRATOR
Types of Access Levels
- Global access level
- Project-specific access level
Global Access Level
Global access level is the default access level associated with each user. We can associate the default access level to the user account during the account creation.
Manage >> Manage Users >> Create New Account
Choose the required Access level in the drop-down for the user.
Project-specific Access level
A user can have a different access level in a project. The project-specific access level overrides the global access level. For example, a user may have REPORTER as the global access level but can have a DEVELOPER access level to a specific project.
Access levels can be overridden for both private & public projects. Note that overriding access level is not permitted for users with ADMINISTRATOR global access level.
