Agile Scrum Roles & Responsibilities

Overview

Scrum is a framework for Agile development in an organization. The three main agile scrum roles are as follows:

  • Product Owner
  • Scrum Master
  • Scrum Team

Agile Scrum Roles

Product Owner

The product owner is responsible for getting the requirements from the end-user. The product Owner defines the features of the product. The product owner envisions the product strategy and the roadmap of the product development in the organization.

Scrum Master

Scrum Master is responsible for driving the Agile process. Scrum Master manages all the Scrum meetings in the organization. Some of the Agile meetings are Sprint planning, Backlog and story grooming sessions, sprint retrospectives, etc.

Scrum Master is a facilitator who trains the scrum team and helps the scrum team to follow agile practices

Scrum Team

The Scrum Team should comprise collaborative and cross-functional team members. It comprises the Developers, the QA team, and other team members.  The Scrum members execute the sprint agile tasks and complete the user stories.
