Types of Cyber security
Overview
Cyber Security encompasses measures and practices taken to protect computer systems, networks, and sensitive data from unauthorized access, cyber threats, data thefts, damage, or other malicious activities.
Types of Cyber security
CyberSecurity can be classified into the following types:
- Network Security
- Application Security
- Data Security
- System Security
- Infrastructure Security
- Cloud Security
- Mobile Security
- IoT Security
Network Security
Network security is a type of cybersecurity that safeguards computer networks and their components, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices, to prevent unauthorized access, attacks, and data breaches from intruders.
Application Security
Application security safeguards the software and applications from threats. It involves protecting software and applications from security vulnerabilities, such as code injection, cross-site scripting, malware, and other types of attacks that can be used to exploit flaws in software.
Data Security
Data security involves protecting sensitive data, such as customer information, financial data, and other proprietary information, from unauthorized access, theft, or loss. Data security involves protecting data both in storage and in transport during communication.
System Security
System Security protects and secures Windows servers, Linux servers, system security patches, upgrading the service packs, etc.
Infrastructure security
Infrastructure security focuses on securing infrastructure like DNS, E-mail servers, tightening of the applications servers, etc.
Cloud Security
Cloud security focuses on protecting data, cloud applications(SaaS), and infrastructure in cloud-based environments from cyber threats and attacks.
Mobile Security
Mobile security focuses on securing mobile devices, such as cell phones, smartphones, and tablets, and the data and applications they contain, from cyber threats and attacks.
IoT Security
IoT(Internet of Things ) security focuses on securing IoT devices against cyber threats.
