E–Governance Models
Overview
In this tutorial, we will learn about different E-Government models. E-governance is the short form of the term ‘Electronic Governance’. It involves using ICTs( Information and Communication Technologies) at various levels of government departments and public sectors to enhance governance and efficiency in their work.
E-Governance Models
We can divide the E-Governance models into different models depending on the specific types of services. E-Governance facilitates interaction between different stakeholders in governance. The different E-Governance models are as follows:
- G2C(Government-to-Citizens)
- G2G(Government-to-Government)
- G2B(Government-to-Business)
- G2E(Government-to-Employees)
G2C (Government-to-Citizens)
In the G2C model, government services are made available to citizens. This model acts as an interface between the government and citizens, enabling the citizens to benefit from the efficient delivery of a wide range of public services. Citizens can access government services anywhere and anytime, expanding the availability and accessibility of public services and improving their quality.
G2G (Government-to-Government)
The G2G model is the interaction between different government entities like agencies. ICTs are used to restructure the governmental processes involved in the functioning of government entities. This model increases the flow of information and services within and between different government entities.
G2B (Government-to-Business)
The G2B model is services between Government and different business organizations. E-Governance tools are used to aid the business community – providers of goods and services – to seamlessly interact with the government. The objective is to save time, reduce operational costs, and create a more transparent business environment when dealing with the government.
G2E (Government-to-Employees)
The G2E model is the interaction between the government and the employees. This interaction is a two-way process between the government organization and the employees.
