TestLink Install Requirements
In this tutorial, we will understand TestLink’s Installation Requirements. TestLink is a web-based tool that can be installed on a LAMP / WAMP stack.
TestLink System Requirements
Before you begin the installation, it’s important to know the basic system requirements needed to run TestLink.
The key system requirements for TestLink are as follows:
- Web Server
- Database
- PHP
- Operating System
Web Server: TestLink works with Apache or any other compatible web server. Apache is the most common choice for TestLink users.
- Web server: Apache 2.x or higher/ IIS 3 or higher
- Apache HTTP Web server
Database: TestLink supports MySQL and MariaDB databases. You will need to have either MySQL or MariaDB installed and configured to store the data.
- Databases: MySQL 4.x or higher/PostgreSQL 8.x or higher
- Steps to install MySQL Database
PHP: TestLink is built on PHP, so you will need to have PHP installed on your server. The recommended version is PHP 7.4 or higher.
- Language: PHP 5.x or higher version.

Operating System: TestLink can be installed on various operating systems, including Linux, and Windows.
- Machine with OS: Windows 7/10/11 machine / Linux
WAMP Stack
To install TestLink we need the following components on the WAMP Stack:
- Install Apache Web Server.
- PHP Installation on Windows.
- Install a Database for example MySQL.
Database Configuration
Configure and enable MySQL extensions in PHP.
Disk Space Requirements
Initial disk space requirements: TestLink occupies roughly around 100 MB of disk space. Check all the requirements and proceed with TestLink either on Windows or Linux platforms.
