Once the computer has finished booting up, we’ll first see the Windows desktop. The Windows desktop is the main workspace for the computer. From here, we can view and manage files on the computer, open Windows software applications, play games, access the Internet and e-mail, chat with friends, etc.
The look and feel of the Windows 7 desktop as shown below:
Windows is a multi-tasking GUI(Graphical User Interface) based operating system. Whenever we open a file, folder, or software application, it will appear in a new GUI window. We can open multiple items at the same time in different windows. We can open new windows, move and resize windows, and close windows when you’re done using them.
